Extraordinary Potential, The Agriculture Exports from North Sumatera Come up

Agricom.id, MEDAN – Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo attended the acceleration of Gerakan Tiga Kali Ekspor (Gratieks) in North Sumatera province, Thursday (20/2/2020). He directly listened to the latest data of the agriculture product exports from the province.

As the result, the province got the extra ordinary leap reaching 25 percent in 2018-2019. The leap took place for the province has the potential areas within fertile land which produces superior commodity to export.

“This proves that North Sumatera has the extra ordinary potential to develop the agriculture in the future. I told to the governor of North Sumatera and every officer in the agriculture agency to keep working and increase the exports,” he said when releasing the agricultural product exports from North Sumatera, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

For information, North Sumatera has 28 superior commodities to export to 28 countries. The potential volume reached up to 4.058 tons, 373,6 cubic meter and 42.500 pieces of horticultural seeds within the transaction reaching Rp 79,6 billion.

The commodities to export consist of palm oil pulp, clove, eucalyptus sawn, timber, PKE, sheet rubber, rubber wood, cinnamon wood, tick, crude palm oil, palm leaves, areca nut, grated coconut, candlenut, RDB Olein, crude palm oil, and coffee.

“The biggest exports could reach 290,7 tons or about Rp 97,3 billion, within the total weight about 4.033 tons and 223.902 meter cubic," he said.

Besides, there are paste durian and artificial plantations which reached 12,3 tons or 42.500 pieces within the transaction Rp 1,2 billion. Sub-sector food plantation, frozen cassava reached 11,5 tons or equal to Rp 436,2 million.

"The livestock that consists of centipede, swift nest reached 1 tons within about Rp 1,2 billion," he said. (A2)
