Agricom.id, JAKARTA - Ministry of Agriculture activated Komando Strategi Penggilingan Padi (Kostraling) and Perusahaan Umum Badan Urusan Logistik (Perum Bulog) to absorb the farmers’ grain in West Java Province as the real thing not to make theirs cheaper in the harvest season which is running in March to April 2021. Ministry of Agriculture, Agriculture Agency, Perum Bulog, Kostraling, BNI, and the Army did absorb the farmers’ grain or Gerakan Serap Gabah Petani (GSGP) to stabilized the price in the province.
It was decided that the institutions would absorb 270.000 tons of the grain in 2021.
Taufan Akib of Perum Bulog West Java told that his side is committed to absorb the grain as maximal as it could in this season within the quality condition. “We target to buy the grain for about 270.000 tons of milled dry grain MDG in 2021,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.
Ajat Sudrajat of Agriculture Agency West Java told, grain is cheaper than it from harga pembelian pemerintah (HPP) to sell in some regions. But he is thankful for the agreement to buy rice in the region. It is hoped that the grain would be at least the same with HPP.
Ugi Sugiharto who is in charge in GSGP Team of Ministry of Agriculture told that the grain absorption would be in the sub districts where it was cheaper than in in HPP. “In the massive harvest and the grain is cheap, the government would help the farmers by the synergy among the instances, namely Perum Bulog,” he said.
He also told that the absorption focusing in the sub districts where it is cheap is to help the farmers not to get loss and it is in the spot.
“Through Kostraling, Ministry of Agriculture encouraged Perum Bulog to optimize the absorption, encourage the farmers to increase their quality of grain based on the available standards (based on Regulation of Minister of Trade No. 24 / 2020),” he said.
In the previous, GSGP Team and Kostraling, regional government, and Perum Bulog did buy the farmers’ grain in Banten about 53.000 tons grain, in Yogyakarta about 74.775 tons, in Jambi about 8.000 tons, Lampung about 25.000 tons, Sragen about 17.580 tons, Karanganyar about 15.000 tons, Boyolali about 24.092 tons, Grobogan about 24.000 tons, Nganjuk about 26.592 tons, Maros about 2.000 tons, Barru about 500 tons, in South Sumatera about 95.455 tons, in Sub district of Terisi District of Indramayu about 750 tons and some other districts.
General Director of Food Plantation Ministry of Agriculture, Suwandi told that the areas to harvest in March 2021 would cover 1,63 million hectares and in April it would be 1,67 million hectares, Kostraling should optimally work to buy the farmers’ grain/rice.
In other place, General Director of Food Plantation, Ministry of Agriculture, Suwandi told that based on the data from Central Bureau of Statistic (CBS), the areas to harvest in March 2021 would cover 1,63 million hectares and in April it would be 1,67 million hectares. Ministry of Agriculture would optimally work to buy the farmers’ grain/rice within profitable price and accelerate the second planting season.
“It would be happening in many regions in Indonesia to anticipate the cheaper grain. Besides we would ask for the regional government to prepare and strengthen the rice stock in every village, sub district/Kostratani, and district/city,” he said. (A2)
