Agricom.id, SALATIGA – What Mayor of Salatiga to develop vanilla, as Chairman of Indonesian Consultative Assembly, Bambang Soesatyo told, is the strategic way to make the people’s economy better. Bambang thought that the future of Indonesia is not in Jakarta or other big cities.

“In this pandemic, there would be five countries that could avoid the food crisis in the world, one of them is Indonesia. Only three sectors could survive and even develop, one of them is agriculture. Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo told, the agricultural exports in 2020 reached 500 billion," Bambang told in the Sosialisasi Empat Pilar MPR RI dan Pencanangan Salatiga sebagai Kota Empat Pilar dan Kota Vanili in the Official Residence of Mayor Salatiga, Wednesday (31/3/2021), as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

Bamsoet, his familiar name also explained that the big cities would not be promising anymore because the business would be from villages.

“Some of our friends move to the villages and do farming, develop micro, small, and medium business. Now they are better and developing through online markets. It means, it is easy to do business,” he said.

Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) told, Salatiga has the potential to develop vanilla because of the land and agro-climate.

“The concept of development is in yard – base. 10 vanillas per family is the option to empower the people,” SYL said.

For information, the vanilla exports from Indonesia in January - December 2020 reached 363,5 tons or about Rp 873 billion or increased 28,16% compared to the same period in 2019. (A2)
