Professor of IPB: The Agricultural Technology in Indonesia Goes Better

Agricom.id, JAKARTA – The professor of Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Professor Muhammad Firdaus said that the agricultural technology in Indonesia goes better. It could be seen by the making agriculture war room (AWR) that Ministry of Agriculture controls to accelerate the technology information, cultivation, planting, harvest, market monitoring, production, and others.

“I think, the technology in Indonesia gets better and Ministry of Agriculture has its progress. This is amazing,” he said in online chatting, Friday (30/4/2021) as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

On the other hand, the government prepared the paddy production system well by providing superior seeds and pest control. The two could be seen in food estate program which develops well.

“I think, the programs of the government do better too. We could see from food estate progress in three provinces. Everything runs better,” he said.

Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) in many chances told that the agricultural modernization would equally be implemented in many regions in Indonesia.

"We need to review what we have done to get the young generations to do farm; what innovations we implemented. I think, our agriculture keeps going forward and better,” he said.

SYL thought, it needs to run mechanism to anticipate the decreasing numbers of farmers to be workers in the urban.

"Ministry of Agriculture since some last years distributed agricultural tools massively. We and the regional governments directly socialized and developed the farmers when distributing modern agricultural tools,” he said. (A2)
