Agricom.id, JAKARTA – Agricultural sectors in the first quarter of 2021 got the economic progress about 2,95 percent. Head of Central Bureau of Statistic (CBS) Suhariyanto said that this is the good achievement because 30 percent of the workers did work in the sector.
He thought, during Covid-19 pandemic 2020, agricultural sector was one of seven sectors that positively developed. The progress mostly took place in every subsector. “Plantation sub sector even increased 10,32 percent, or two digits in the first quarter of 2021,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.
He also mentioned that the climate and the changing harvest season became the factors to the progress.
“The massive harvest in April this year changed to be in March until the first quarter. The production was good at the time,” he said.
Not only plantation sub sector, the horticulture also increased 3,02 percent. It was supported by the conducive weather to last year and increase the vegetable and fruit production.
He continued that livestock sub sector namely in the domestic demands optimized the production and increased 2,48 percent.
The plantation sub sector increased 2,17 percent. He thought that it happened for the Plantation National Action Plans of Sustainable Palm Oil and the better crude palm oil (CPO) price.
Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo did welcome the good and positive achievement. He thought, everything came from the work hard and cooperation that gave their best.
“Alhamdulillah, this is the portrait of agriculture that gives the best efforts and work to the country. The agricultural structures keep moving always though it is in pandemic. This proved, agriculture stand on the crisis. We would keep working for the people,” SYL said. (A2)
