The Massive Harvest Took Place, SYL Urged Kostraling and Bulog Optimally Work

26 March 2021 , 06:38 WIB, JAKARTA – Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) urged that every side involved in the grain absorption in the massive harvest of 2021 should focus to their work. He also hoped that the absorption would optimally run by ordering Komando Strategi Penggilingan Padi (Kostraling) and officers of Perusahaan Umum Badan Urusan Logistik (Perum Bulog).

"Though we have limited access, it does not mean that we could not work. You’re your spirit to give the best for the nation. Do your obligation to fulfill the food for the people of Indonesia but keep your health, and obey the health protocols,” SYL said, Wednesday (24/3/2021), as in the official statement to

He also hoped that Kostraling could be working as the small Bulog to absorb the farmers’ production in many regions. Then Kostraling should distribute to the storages of Bulog in Indonesia.

"Then the grain/rice absorption from the farmers would be optimally done. I think, this is the good synergy in Ministry of Agriculture which Perpadi and Bulog are in," he said.

SYL also mentioned that his side would accelerate the second planting season by distributing helps, such as, superior seeds, fertilizers, tools, and other infrastructures, such as, the irrigation development.

“We would do everything to encourage the food self-sufficiency. Ministry of Agriculture would optimally do handle the harvest and post-harvest to maintain the farmers’ grain/rice price profitable. Then we could accelerate the second planting season,” he said.

He continued that everything would be realized if every side would really work and cooperate both from the central government, regional governments, Perum Bulog and others to provide food needs nationally.

“We do hope that the province and district/city would act and activate Kostraling in the sub district as the spears. This strong commitment would be the indicator of the successful achievement of paddy, corn, and soybean planting,” he said. (A2)
